Hela

Happy Hela-ween!

I was really excited about this Hela figure. I always like badass female characters, and this one looks pretty great. Plus, it has both versions of her head. But, the end result is a little less exciting. The figure is nicely detailed, but it has difficulty standing. The cape doesn't really mount effectively into the figure, and I wish the sword had a little more rigidity to it, as mine is bent pretty badly out of shape.

Lady Thor

I've really liked the look of the new female Thor, so this was an easy choice for me to pick up. She's a pretty nice figure. She's got a lot of great detail in her armor and clothing. The only issue I have is that I wish they did a better job of painting the clasp on her shirt.

Female Thor is in actuality Jane Foster, who gains the power of Thor after Thor Odinson loses it.

Odinson

I'm not terribly impressed by this Odinson figure, and really, the only reason I have it is for the Hulk part. He's basically just a painted figure, no molded details. The cape's kind of cool, maybe I'll use parts of this figure to customize another.

As for the character, I glean that this is the de-powered male Thor in the new female-Thor comics.

Ares

When I initially saw the images of this figure, I was not particularly interested. I grabbed him when his price finally came back down to the regular MSRP to get the Build-a-Figure part. When I finally got him, I was actually pretty impressed. He definitely has some articulation issues, but the sculpt is pretty good. He looks pretty badass, despite the awful skull-and-swords logo on his chest. Also, he's pretty big compared to most figures, so that's kind of cool.

Efreet Schneid

So finally I bit the bullet and got myself the RE/100 Efreet Schneid. I still don't like the P-Bandai markup, but it wasn't too exorbitantly expensive for this one. It's a solid kit, much like the original version. But the color on this one does leave a little to be desired. It doesn't particularly bother me, but I can understand why people dislike the color on this kit (the dark blackish parts look a little brown and the purple doesn't quite match up to the original source). The daggers make for a cool spiky look, but they did require paint (or use of some foil stickers). Luckily, the paint worked pretty well with a single coat.

Daredevil

I was overall impressed with the Netflix Daredevil series, though (and I think this is true of all of the Netflix Marvel series), I tended to lose interest in the second half of each season. As for the figure, it's decent enough, though the overall look of it definitely looks like a toy (as opposed to my Spider-woman, Spider-Man, and MCU Scarlet Witch figures, which are higher quality). It seems to actually go overboard with the textures of his costume.

Fumina Hoshino

So as it turns out, the female characters get much more than a bust (and there seems to be a lot of jokes floating out there about the word bust with this kit). Both Fumina and Lacus get sculpts from the hips up, whereas the male characters are sculpted from the chest up, leading to a significant height differential. This kit's cool, it actually comes with some optional parts to take the hoodie off and replace it with bare arms. It seems a little over pervy to me, and in order to make it look good you'd have to fix the arms in place permanently, which I am unwilling to do. So I'll stick with the hoodie. I also used the stickers to create the black straps on her top, someday I'll take the time to actually paint them instead.
