Most Wanted 2019 #1: Kshatriya

No surprises here. It was #1 last time, it's still #1. There's nothing I can really say about it beyond it's an awesome mobile suit and they've teased that they're considering it for an RE/100 in the past. We've gotten several of those kits in various forms, but they've still missed the big one. Make it right, Bandai.

Most Wanted 2019 #2: GP02A

I'm excited about the upcoming release of the Gundam "Alex" 2.0, not because I'm a fan of that design, but because it leads me to hope they might give the GP02A a similar treatment as we get closer to the 20-year anniversary of Stardust Memory.

Most Wanted 2019 #3: Palace Athene

There won't be any surprises in my top 3, they were in the top 4 of the last list I made. You can read all my thoughts about them in the previous posts. The Palace Athene is still one of my favorite mobile suit designs of all time.

Most Wanted 2019 #4: Rozen Zulu

I can't give you a good reason why this mobile suit got left off of the previous Top-10 list, I guess I was just crazy. I did mention that the legs being so small that it would be top-heavy, but so is the Hamma Hamma and they did that. I mentioned that I felt Gundam Unicorn was less known in the US, but now it's probably the most accessible series since it hit Netflix. There is no reason not to include this mobile suit in the 1/100 lineup, except for the fact that the Kshatriya probably has to come out first (us fans might riot otherwise).

Most Wanted 2019 #5: Dreissen (Sleeves Ver.)

So it seems likely we'll probably get a few more ZZ inspired kits over the next year or two, but in the case of the Dreissen, I'd hope they skip straight to the Gundam Unicorn version of the mobile suit, because it's clearly the superior design. The mobile suit has a great shape to it, is big, and is heavily based on a classic fan-favorite design (Dom).

In addition, because I believe Bandai takes this into account every time they consider a new model, there are alternate designs. Namely, the classic ZZ version, and also it would be easy to use the kit to develop the Dom III as another alternate kit (they've been bringing out a lot of Advance of Zeta designs in HGUC form). The original MG Dom was actually a really solid kit for being one of the earliest MGs in development, so it would be really exciting to see where they could go with 20 years of development.

Most Wanted 2019 #6: Geara Zulu

The Geara Zulu makes this list based almost solely off of how much I like the HGUC versions of the kit. It's a great entry into the Zeon grunt design. It's a kit that would really benefit from the modern MG level of detail and articulation, and comes complete with a wide variety of accessories (comparable to what came with the Geara Doga).

The Geara Zulu also comes with many different alternate designs, and I would probably spend a fortune on P-Bandai releases of the Guards type, the Angelo Sauper custom, and the new Erika Yugo custom from Gundam Narrative. So Bandai, the money's just sitting out there for you to take advantage of with your predatory exclusives.

Most Wanted 2019 #7: R-Jarja

The next kit on my list is the first totally new entry for this list. It's currently getting a run of HGUC kits, and I feel like it's one of the stronger mobile suit designs from the ZZ era Zeon forces. It's the R-Jarja.

The R-Jarja is an often forgotten mobile suit with a cool design and a cool weapon. We don't often see bayonets on beam weaponry. It comes standard in a color scheme very similar to the Bawoo and cuts an imposing figure (overall height 23.55m). It also comes with two variants that are ripe for P-Bandai exploitation, from the OVA Twilight Axis and the manga Moon Gundam.

I'm finding that there's a serious lack of later-period Zeon mobile suits in 1/100 scale (outside of ace suits), and the R-Jarja would definitely be a welcome addition to my Zeon collection.

Most Wanted 2019 #8: Gabthley

Another previous honorable mention Titans mobile suit. This is perhaps one of my favorite Titans designs when it came to their myriad transformable mobile suits. It really tends to look kind of monstrous, and while the brown would often make a mobile suit seem "boring," it works really well with this one.

Most Wanted 2019 #9: Bolinoak Sammahn

Another kit that made it off of the honorable mentions list and onto the actual top-10. There are very few Titans mobile suits in 1/100 scale (GM Quel, The O, Marasai, Hizack, Gundam Mk-II) and there were a lot of unique and cool looking designs from Z Gundam. This is the second sidekick to Scirocco's The O and Palace Athene, and a unique ace design. This is just one of several Titans mobile suits that makes the 2019 version of the list.

Most Wanted 2019 #10: Hambrabi

So the Hambrabi makes it off of the honorable mention list, but just barely. This was tough, because I feel like it is one of the most important Titans mobile suits, but for some reason I just couldn't hype myself up for it as much as many others.

Most Wanted 2019: Honorable Mentions

So it's been three years since I've made my initial "Most Wanted 1/100 Scale Gunpla," and I feel like it's time to update the list. There was some notable success with the last list, with releases of the ZZ Gundam ver. Ka, the RE/100 Bawoo and Efreet Schneid, and the MG Providence Gundam, which scratched the Legend Gundam itch for me. I'll also freely admit that my desire for more UC era mobile suits, particularly Zeon and Titans suits, has drastically re-shaped the rankings, knocking a lot of my previous top-ten right out of the list.

OZ-12SMS Taurus

It was #10, but while I still love the design and want some After Colony grunts for my gundams to destroy, it just isn't something that it as enticing as a UC era kit. This was however, the last kit that got kicked out of the top-10, at one point I had it as high as #6, but ultimately it came down to this vs. the Hambrabi, and the Hambrabi had to take that battle based solely on legacy.

MMS-01 Serpent

From #5 to honorable mentions, not because I like it any less but more because the HG 1/100 does just enough to keep it less enticing than a new Zeon mobile suit.

OZ-06MS Leo

This remains a strong entry on the honorable mentions list, mostly because it is such a plain, simple design for a mobile suit. It does have the benefit of having lots of possible accessories.

ZGMF-1017 GINN

The GINN (Djinn?) was #9 on my previous list, but like many others has been trumped by UC era mobile suits. It's still a fine grunt suit, and a good send-up to the original Zaku II.

ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam

The Akatsuki was #8 on my previous list, less because I'm a fan of the design and more because it completed a collector's desire for Seed/Seed Destiny suits. It has the gold like the Hyaku-Shiki which is a plus, but not enough to keep it on the list currently.
