MG Destiny Gundam Full Burst Mode

The ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam
Got this kit from my sister for Christmas (thanks sis!), and honestly when I put it on my wish list it wasn't a kit I had ever really intended on getting for myself. I had never really gotten into Gundam Seed or Gundam Seed Destiny as a series, because every time I tried it just felt like I was watching the original 0079 series again. I also felt that the designs of the mobile suits in the series were just not that cool. But on the day I put together my list, this kit showed up on Amazon under their recommendations and I just decided it looked like it would be a fun build.

Well, when I finally got it I was amazed at all the extras that came with it. It included large figures of both of the "protagonists" of the Seed Destiny series, effects parts to interact with the hands and allow "throwing" poses, a beam effect for the shield, beam effects for the sword and the "boomerangs," the super awesome light wings, and, unexpectedly, a chrome inner frame.

The build was pretty interesting, with a special piece for the hip joints allowing you to lock them into an open or closed position, allowing greater movement for posing. The wings are awesome on their own, without the effect parts even being necessary to make an impact. They give the Epyon a run for its money.

While building I finally started and finished the entire series of Seed/Seed Destiny, and actually really enjoyed it. It was very much an homage to the original Gundam series, but differed in a substantial enough way to really make it enjoyable on its own. And after building this kit I started buying some other kits from the series, finding that they're some of my favorite to build and display. I'll be showing some of them off soon.
