Finn was a character who I both enjoyed immensely and also thought that he was a bit too silly of a character in
The Force Awakens. As a former Stormtrooper, I would have liked to see a character who was more of a tactical cutthroat than a pure-hearted goofball. He was certainly entertaining, but especially since I believe Rey's story will be that of being tempted by the dark side, I wish that Finn's story reflected that a little more. Maybe while Kylo Ren feels the pull towards the light and resists it, it would have been nice to have a bad guy who feels the pull toward the light and embraces it.
